Christmas seems to be already far from us (February is starting in just 2 days, think about it!) but Mama found some pics in her laptop that she forgot to share with you. They were taken on the 25th when we opened our presents from Santa ;-)

Elephant Parade Singapore 2012

I nearly forgot to tell you about the elephants parade we went to see at the Botanic Gardens a few weeks ago. We went with our pal Oscar and had quite a lot of fun! I {Chloe} enjoyed a lot taking pictures with the most beautiful elephants. All of them have been sold in an auction to raise money for conservation of the Asian Elephant! More information {here}.

Malaysia Road trip /// Part 2 - The Moon River Lodge in Cameron Highlands 3

Following my previous post, here below are photos of an afternoon excursion in a nearby organic farm. Most vegetables are sent to Singapore. The farmer is a former physics teacher in Penang... yeahh!!

Malaysia Road trip /// Part 2 - The Moon River Lodge in Cameron Highlands 2

Days are passing by and I forgot to continue sharing pictures of our Malaysian holiday trip... The most interesting and dirty part is just about to be shown though.... As mentioned is the previous post, we spent three days in the Cameron Highlands, north of capital Kuala Lumpur. We stayed in a "farm" where they are growing vegetables. The day after our arrival, we spent a good amount of time our feet in the mud... not that everyone liked it {Ms Chloé hated the experience!}.

In the morning we had a session of planting corn seeds. Tools were conveniently placed outside in front of the house under canopies (rainy season). There was no more boots for Chloé to borrow, so the little one had to keep her slippers. She hated it and asked to go back to Singapore presto :-)

We then climbed up a very very muddy road to visit the vegetable garden. We had to carry the kids as it was a bit dangerous... at the top was a doggy in a cage. It kept Chloé and Mathias entertained while the rest of the group was going further up.

Saturday morning activity: visit of a firemen station

Last Saturday, we visited a firemen station no too far from our house... something Mama had talked about for the past three months! We finally made it, and we had a really good time playing in the trucks and with the water hoses. Oh dear, Mathias especially couldn't contain his joy in front of every truck, ambulance or motorbike :-)

Malaysia Road Trip /// Part 2 - The Moon River Lodge in Cameron Highlands 1

After leaving Melaka, we were on the road again (oh my!). We asked Papa to stop often so we could get some "fresh" air and run around. Mathias and I are not used to stay in the car for so long! We were also very fussy with our food, and both Papa & Mama got very angry at times :-(

At some point we left the expressway (autoroute) and we started going up the mountain. A looooong and curvy road that lasted for hours. Luckily none of us got car sick!

We reached a level where there was fog and hundreds of hundreds of greenhouses (des serres) in the middle of the jungle. People are growing vegetables, fruits (strawberries all year-round!) and flowers... they are then exported to neighboring countries such as Singapore. Fantastic landscapes!

Are we still in Malaysia???

And guess what? we lost our way. We turned right where we were supposed to continue straight. I (Chloe) got sick (but not in the car, ouf!). We were all tired, a little bit called, the night was coming and we still had to find the Moon River Lodge where we were staying for the next couple of days.

Papa and Mama finally found the way, and we arrived (at night) in a lovely (and lively) place. I let you discover all by yourself with the photos below:

The Moon River Lodge is first a farm where they are growing vegetables. There are also some chickens, a noisy turkey (dindon), friendly doggies and a cat. It's in the middle of the jungle, and when it rains, it gets pretty muddy (horror!).

He would make any noisy sound and the turkey would immediately start his noise.

No toy can beat that!

The lodge's infrastructure is pretty simple. There are no rooms with attached bathrooms, we all shared toilets and showers. There was hot water though, and this is the most important! We took our meals all together as well, with other guests (all Singaporeans from Singapore). They were many kids and Chloe & Mathias really enjoyed themselves. They could run around freely, watch TV all together only after 5pm (thanks God there was no generator on during the day!) and play in the many hamocs (hamacs).

Mama: our stay in Melaka was very brief although we were staying overnight. We all had a long nap in the afternoon, and went out at 6pm. Unfortunately for us it started raining... we only had time to get some dinner and went back to the hotel for a good night sleep. The next day we were travelling to the Cameron Highlands!

Hello!
Here is the part 1 of our trip in Malaysia. We left very early on Tuesday, December 27 taking a taxi to go to Johor Bahru. We were renting the car there and had to pick it up. Each of us {Mathias and I} had a car seat, we got very excited about it!! The photos below were taken on the way to Melaka, our first stopover that day.

We found this one below, and I would like to wear it all the time. When I started school again, I wanted to show it to my friends {and impress them a bit}. Am I nice?

Happy New Year everyone!

We are back from our holidays, and we have many many pictures to share with you. We did really a lot of things, and spent too much time in the car {Mathias and I think so}. We also went to the mountain, in a farm where they grow veggies {beurkk}. There were some animals such as a cat, doggies, chickens and a turkey that entertained us {Mathias especially} a lot. We also went to a butterfly park, to three different hotels and in a pool that was on the roof of the hotel. I am not sure which part of the trip I preferred, but I know that Malaysia is dirtier than Singapore and at the beginning I wanted to go back home!

Before I start sharing pictures of our holidays, I want to tell you that my Godmother Laure was in Singapore for Christmas, and she stayed longer to spend time with me when I came back from the trip. We went to the pool together and she also bought me a beautiful book with the story of a princess with no kingdom {I will tell you more about this later}.

Mama has lost track of when she took these two pictures... and she hasn't taken any since then... we are waking up far too early and she is working too late to keep up!

Anyway this month of December we ate a lot of chocolate and ginger bread, and we had lovely surprises (planes or cars for Mathias, stickers, lipstick and hand-carved stamps for me). Two more days and Santa is coming!

Mama: We started making our Christmas tree last Sunday as everything is ready here in Singapore from the 1st of November... we are kinda late, you know!

Chloe: We are doing it after Mathias is in bed at night so that we can actually ENJOY it. I love decorating the Christmas tree with Mama. I feel very special to be allowed to stay up "late" and choose the baubles to hang on our tree. We are not finished yet, but it already looks beautiful as it is now :-)

Build a Bear Birthday Party

Birthday parties never really stop... and the more friends you have the more parties you will (have to) attend.
On Monday last week was Karyna's birthday party - she was turning 4, and it was a very fun one for the kids. They got to "build" their own Teddy Bear and choose her/ his clothes. They had a blast and Bear Chloe is now sleeping every night with Miss C.

October has been a busy month with loads of parties to attend... we started with Olivers's and Nicholas's parties {sorry no photos of the great train party of Oliver}, then it was Romy's "by the pool" party {no photos}, then Arsene's {with a magician!}, then Grace's princess party {no photos sorry}, and finally Guillaume & Kara's pirates/ mermaid party {last 2 photos}. I love the month of October, every year we get to go to so many parties!! but I think Mama is not as happy...

Australians celebrate Father's day long after the rest of the world (why?). In fact it was the first Sunday of September... Chloe and Mathias' Papa was flying to Brunei on Monday for work, but we managed to make some delicious cupcakes... and brainstormed with Chloe to come up with the 10 reasons why her Papa is the world's best dad:

Yesterday we attended my friend's Sofia 4th birthday party. We had so much fun as there was a bouncy castle, face painting, Barbies, and... a beautiful Barbie cake! I had asked one for my last birthday party but Mama told me that there were too many children and she was too busy to attempt to make one. However she promised me to create one for my next birthday. Which is in... 6 months :(

Yesterday we went to the Peranakan Museum with my friend Conrad and his brother Arlo. Mathias joined the fun but Mama complained a lot that he was not behaving... he's so active, he never stops moving!

Two weeks ago on Father's day we went to visit the Chinese Garden. It was a bright and sunny day... we nearly melted in the heat! It was a nice stroll, but we still prefer our Botanic Garden, or the East Coast Park!!

My Mama has this new thing at the moment... she's giving herself challenges on top of her workload so that things like making her wedding albums - or my album when I was a baby, get a chance to be done at some point.

Her first challenge was to make me a new dress with a batik fabric from Indonesia she bought early last year. She also used the embroidery of a shirt Papa had from India (too small for him). I modeled my new dress yesterday:

I never allow Mama to tie up my hair like this, but she "bribed" me and put make up on me in exchange.
The little horse is my new plushie. My Mama made it for me :)
I think it's part of a project she's working on at the moment... shhhht, still a secret!
I have called her Cinderella (!) and Mathias wants to play with her but I don't let him, he might break her. Mama said she will make another one just for Mathias.
I think it's a good idea...

L'Affiche Moderne {The Handmade Hullabaloo}

Hello! My latest blog post for The Handmade Hullabaloo is live! check it out, I have prepared a lovely post about L'Affiche Moderne, a French online gallery presenting the work of young photographers, graphic designers and children's illustrators.

These two below are my choices for my two children: the little cars and trucks with the animals driving them is so funny, my 18 month-old son would love it! He's all passionate by engines and animals at the moment. I love Sarah Jane's illustrations, and it was harder to pick something for my 4 year-old daughter... but ultimately the animals playing music is too cute to be missed!

But guess what?!... I was the lucky winner of a giveaway organised by Peggy of Paul et Paula blog. The prize was a poster from L'Affiche Moderne! So I asked my daughter to show me which poster was her favorite... and she eventually picked up the pink world map {in French}.

My Papa's birthday! {Chloe}

Yesterday was my Papa's birthday! but we celebrated it last Sunday because, you know, my Papa comes back too late on Monday (we are already sleeping I mean).

I made a birthday cake with Mama, it was a chocolate one and it was my best cake ever. I leaked the bowl when we made that cake (sorry no pictures...). MIAM!!!

This is how it looks when the kids come in at 6am while on holidays... the father can't open his eyes, the mother had to get up to pick up her screaming son from his travel cot (in the morning cold - ha) and she's pretty awake by now... at least enough to take a picture!
The daughter looks sleepy, but in real life she's jumping up and down on the bed :(

Mathias and Miguel have the same age and it was so cute to see them play together... of course they were the occasional fights over toys, but overall Miguel was very happy to have a mate his age around to share the fun!

Good Friday Family Lunch {Chloe}

Hello, this is my last post about my holiday in Australia! The day before we left we had a big lunch with all my cousins... it was so much fun! I could choose what I wanted to eat, especially the dessert... later in the afternoon I told Mama that I had eaten too much chocolate!

The day we saw wild kangaroos... {Chloe}

I forgot to tell you about the day we saw three wild kangaroos when we were still in Jervis Bay! The first one was very small, Mathias didn't see it because he was sleeping. The second one is pictured here below.

And the third one was on the way back to the car from another beach... we were climbing up the hill when we saw a very big kangaroo staring at us from the top (he was bending over at first). Then he suddenly stood up and we got really scared because he was maybe 2m high! then he jumped toward us, and we started walking back - Papa said the kangaroo wanted maybe to box with him. At the end he turned right and disappeared in the bush... and we quickly went back to the car! OUF!!!

Very cute! I loved watching the kangaroo eating the grass.

Featherdale zoo {Chloe}

On Good Friday, just one day before leaving Australia, we went to the local zoo with all my cousins. We had a blast! The kangaroos are free and you can feed and touch them... Mathias and Miguel got very excited!
We could also see koalas, wombats, dingos, a crocodile, many many birds and also farm animals.

Koalas are mainly sleeping so when one is awake, woouh!!

An afternoon at Clovelly beach - Sydney {Chloe}

On Thursday afternoon the weather was really good so Papa & Mama decided to bring us to the beach once more (we were leaving on Saturday). We drove from Plumpton in the suburb (where my Papa grew up) to Clovelly beach which is next to Coogee Beach...

This is Clovelly beach, probably one of the smallest beaches in Sydney! I was disappointed because they were no big waves to scare me... I like to be scared by the waves!

Coolangata Estate Wines - on the way back from Jervis Bay {Mama}

On the way back from Jervis Bay (3 days after leaving Sydney) we stopped over at Coolangata Estate Wines for some wine and cheese tasting. I can't quite remember which red wine we tasted but it was good. Sampled with some cheese (camembert and brie-like cheeses), it had a taste of France!

Someone is pretty serious about it...

Mathias is into cars and planes and motorbikes. A boy!

Hello everyone!

Yes, we are back from Australia, and I am back to the blogging world with loads of things to share with you. First of all, our holiday trip was awesome! We had a great time in Sydney and enjoyed a lot our planned vacation in the Jervis bay area {which is about 2 and a half hours south of Sydney}.

I want to share with you today about our lovely stay in Huskisson Bed & Breakfast. Kate and Stephen were our wonderful hosts for two days and the kids {and us} enjoyed the time spent in this charming and tastefully renovated weatherboard cottage built in 1913!
We had the whole family suite for ourselves which includes a nice bedroom for parents with French doors to the garden, second bedroom for kids and a big bathroom with bathtub and shower!

As Kate describes it best herself on the website:

"The B&B has been recently renovated and decorated to create an uncomplicated, beachy feel.

All our guest rooms are spacious and uncluttered with a hint of retro chic. All the guests’ bedrooms have French doors leading out onto the verandah, or garden terrace area. The stylish, modern ensuite bathrooms all have big clawfoot baths, generous walk-in showers and a heated towel rail or underfloor heating.

Guests have the use of a sitting-room with a wood fire for winter, a selection of magazines, games to play and books to read. Furnished with our cosy favourites and decorated with our collection of real art and vintage touches, the ambiance is welcoming, relaxing and unique."

Breakfast was served in the verandah which was such a privilege with the sun gently rising above us. A beloved feeling I dearly miss in Singapore as we don't have a balcony/ terrasse/ verandah... although we have a lot of sun!

We were treated with delicious fruit salad, freshly baked bread, homemade jam, eggs and great coffee every morning. I loved my cappuccino, thank you so much Stephen!

We were lucky enough to share the common area with another family with a little girl who was just about Chloe's age. They had fun playing together and it certainly added to the pleasure of not having to provide entertainment to our 4 year-old :)

We mainly spent our time at the beach, and visiting one National Park where we saw wild kangaroos {including a huge male that truly scared us!}. We even managed to see a dolphin while in Shark Net beach: magical and beautiful!

I highly recommend you to visit Jervis Bay and stay over at Huskisson Bed & Breakfast if you have the chance to live in NSW or plan a visit to Sydney soon. It will truly amaze you!

Playground in Summer Hill

It was not as hot in Sydney as it is in Singapore... we were able to spend many hours at the playground even in the middle of the day! we loved so much the playground near Tito Jeff's house.
Mama brought us there a couple of times, and once I played with little girls and they even gave me a multi color ice cream!
I love being on holidays! My Mama says that while on holidays we don't have to follow all the rules and it's ok to eat ice cream almost every day :)

What we do during our French tuition... {Chloe}

Sometimes we go to the museum, and other times we stay home. But last Thursday my Mama brought me to a cafe called The Pigeon Hole in Tanjong Pagar where you can lie down on bean bags, jump, be noisy, seat on kids chairs, and have yummy hot chocolate!

Did you guess yesterday that the difference in the photo was Mathias's haircut? as feared his hair did not curl in Australia, and it did not look so good... so Mama decided it was time to get him his first haircut... he didn't really like it, but he loved to hear that he was looking good and all the attention!

Tito Jeff and Tita Cynthia's wedding {Chloe}

In April 16 was my Tito Jeff's wedding... Oh, the weather was quite bad with the rain pouring nearly all day, and it was too cold for me to wear my super cute dress bought especially for the wedding! I was very disappointed but luckily I had my new red shoes to help me get over it.
Mathias was wearing a new outfit too, and everybody said he was handsome. Can you spot a difference on his photo below? Tell me in the comment section ;)

Although my Papa knows Sydney very well, he still had to look at the map to find the way to the church. He was one of the groom's best man, and he was busy all day looking after us and doing his duty... poor him!

We stayed at the back of the church to see the bride's arrival, and we were not disappointed... Tita Cynthia was so beautiful my Mama nearly cried!

At the end of the church ceremony, the bride and groom took many pictures... here is the most beautiful one Mama and I could take... See how happy Tito Jeff is!

This is was one of the flower girls {we forgot her name...}. She was so beautiful in her princess dress... I wanted to look like her and I became her friend. She had make up, earrings and shoes with heels and a big white dress like a bride!

One day I will be a flower girl too... which one of my Tatas will get married first?

Papa wants to get married all over again with Mama!!

We are back from our wonderful holiday in Australia! but while Mama is sorting out all the photos (nearly 200 I have heard), here is one that she took just before we left... Mathias still had is long curly hair... yes, there is no more long hair for him... stay tuned!

French lesson at the National Museum {Chloe}

My Mama has started to teach me French once a week, on Thursday. Last week we went to the National Museum of Singapore as there was an exhibition about little black dresses... My Mama had brought paper and pens and then we drew colorful dresses... and spoke French of course!
