Birthday Party {by Mama}

So here we are with a collage of the best pictures I could find in my camera... it's so cliche, but I did not have time to take pictures and I forgot to delegate this task to someone else... now it's in my top 5 priorities to organize a successful birthday party as seen on my blog here last week.
Anyway I put a lot of efforts into this party and lucky me (!) it was very good and everyone enjoyed it (including parents, yeahh!!!). We prepared a lot of yummy food, there was a candy bar and mini cupcakes, a big birthday cake (sorry no decent picture)...

The highlights of the day was most certainly Miss Chloe who was suddenly too shy to blow her candles in front of (oh so many) guests... she disappeared under the table and her friends did the job!

Everyone enjoyed the party, it was very sweet to have all our friends together at once... it happens only once a year, so Chloe and Mathias felt very special and loved.

Birthday party!

So we had our joint birthday party last Saturday, which explains that Mama hasn't updated the blog for a week... she was sooo busy preparing everything, planning and baking and baking again. We don't have all the photos available yet, but here is a sneak peek of our birthday cake. Mama made it with Yaya Grace, and it was a huge hit!

 Mathias loved being the center of the attention... and there was more than 40 guests...

... I however got suddenly shy when it was my turn to blow the candles... 

Note: Mama hasn't had time to take so many pictures during the party, so she is waiting for her friends to share theirs...

My new friend Alan, who just arrived from Japan, is turning one tomorrow and he joined me to blow the candle... on his own cake! can you spot him?

Happy Chinese New Year! {Chloe}

It is Chinese New Year's Eve today and Chloe had a little celebration at school... she wore a cute little Chinese dress, called cheongsam, and brought two oranges to offer to her class mates. She received a little red pocket called phong bao with chocolate money in return.
It's the tradition in Chinese families to give money to the children and younger generations in general during Chinese New Year.

It is therefore a long weekend for us and we will try to do a lot of things all together... one goal is to watch the traditional Lion Dance that is performed around Singapore, and perhaps enjoy the beach at Sentosa, visit the Marina Bay Sand (casino/ hotel/ shopping mall/ restaurant...) or go to the zoo with cousin David!
